Tesla Model S FAQs- Get to know your Telsa
How do I turn my car on and off?
Your Tesla is always in stand-by mode so there is no ignition/start button in the car. When you put your foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle will power on within 5 seconds as long as the key is in the vehicle.
You can turn off your Tesla by putting the car in park, exiting the car and closing the door behind you, or by using your touchscreen through Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off.
How many miles can I drive on a full charge?
On a full charge, your Tesla rental can travel up to 240 miles.
How do I determine how much charge is available on the vehicle?
Check the bottom left side of the driver screen with the odometer to determine how much charge is left on the vehicle.
How do I find the supercharging stations around the neighborhood? Is there an online mapping tool?
All Enterprise Tesla vehicles are equipped with free access to the Tesla Supercharger network. Enter your destination on the touchscreen using the navigation system and the GPS will identify the fastest route, and the most convenient charging stations.
To locate the nearest Supercharger location, tap on the lightning bolt icon on your navigation screen. Please note that some locations may be in a parking garage or other area where there may be a cost to access; the charging station itself is free.
How do I charge the vehicle at home?
Your Tesla rental comes equipped with cables that can be used to charge the vehicle. These cables have adapters that can be used in standard outlets. Push the button on the Tesla charging connector to open your charge port. You can also open the charge port from the car’s touchscreen or by pressing on the port cover when your car is unlocked. White color indicator means your car is ready for charging. After plugging in, a blue color indicator means your car is preparing to charge. When the indicator turns green, charging is in-progress. Once charging has started, the display inside the vehicle will give you an estimated time and charging level.
The Tesla is designed to maintain its battery over time and will not overcharge when plugged in for an extended period of time.
How do I use the key to open the doors, trunk, and hood?
The Tesla Key Fob is shaped like a miniature version of your Tesla rental. There are three buttons; one on the roof, one on the hood and one on the trunk. Press the top (or the roof) of the Key Fob once to lock your Tesla and twice to unlock; press twice on the front or rear trunk to open these storage spaces.
Can I use the Auto Pilot feature?
The Tesla Auto Pilot feature is not available on your rental vehicle. However, the vehicle is equipped with conventional cruise control.
How do I pair my Bluetooth?
Click on the display menu and select the Blu-tooth/phone icon at the top of the screen. A menu will appear that will allow you to start the pairing process.
